Support for GOP's Immigration Bill
Politico - https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2025/01/09/congress/laken-riley-act-advances-in-senate-00197364 - reports that Senate Democrats overwhelming support the GOP's first immigration bill, with only nine voting against. This bill is the Laken Riley Act, which would detain undocumented immigrants accused of some crimes and allows states to sue the federal government if they can demonstrate harm caused by immigrants who enter the country illegally.
